Great performance by the hula ladies of Hula O Kamuela. Congratulations to Kauionalani Kamanao and Kunewa Mook. They did a beautiful rendition of John K Almeida's Panini Pua Kea originally recorded by his protoge Genoa Keawe. This was an honor to Uncle John and our mother Genoa. Ka'i and Ho'i song was Ku'uipo Onaona. A rendition of Kawai Cockett. Performing for the Halau was Pomaika'i Keawe Lyman the grand-daughter of Aunty Genoa Keawe, Kama Hopkins the great grand-nephew of Genoa Keawe, Sean Naauao and Aaron Sala. The whole performance garnered a 1st Place Trophy in the Auana Wahine Division for 2009.
