Scientists explain the reason why so few probes have been launched to monitor the trail of a comet. As nobody can truly predict the appearance of comets, scientists might only get 2 - 6 months notice. Clip taken from BBC documentary ' A Comet's Tale'.

  • Dont worry, if something nasty does show up and starts threatening to blow up us up the Americans will round up some unlikely oil rig workers and send them up to drill a hole in it and blow it up. And they will achieve this despite being a bunch of dysfunctional clowns.

  • The dinosaurs probably didn't get much notice of an incoming comet before they were wiped out either.

  • ceep pressing 4 (SO FUNNY)

  • @hateutoo100 The thing I am wondering, if it's true that the tail is made out of ice or dust, then shouldn't the comets get smaller and smaller as they travel?

  • @RudivanHemert Undoubtedly, its practically guaranteed.

  • @happyidiottalk and one of them will be left behind and eeh... die hard :)

  • I think the whole 'ice and dust' idea of comets has seen its day come and go.

These things aren't burning off dust....it's a damn electrical charge of some kind.

Spend a moment to take this in.

Disagree? Tell me why I'm wrong.

  • lol a few years at best a few months at worst, I've seen on the news many times about an asteroid passing close by the earth and no one noticed until it passed by, if we have any notice of an asteroid hitting our planet then thats really lucky since a very small percentage of asteroids are actually monitored

  • Haha, now I get it. Tale - Tail!

    A comets tail!

lol, took me a while though.

  • what we need to di is strap a camera to the comet, wait 3000 years for it to come back.....and put the video on youtube :)

  • Search for "chemtrails". This is important. I saw it myself (my chan). Good documentaries "Dont talk about the weather", "Endgame HQ". Stop the secret spraying that poisons us...tell others!
