Interesting, is that a TD-20 there I see? Have to say the comments here are getting tedious, the only thing that spoiled The Unspoken King (if you really listen) is the drums tone - too pristine. I suppose The Unspoken King is like an opposite of what Metallica did with Death Magnetic. I'd love to hear The Unspoken King with drums mixed and mastered to sound like previous albums though! Also anyone dissing the latest album, watch it live - its a whole different animal and fits in with Cryptopsy.

@tshred666 Lord Worm definitely inhales on some parts.
-
Cryptopsy is great. The Unspoken King is a good album, & this is cool
-
@annefrankisaho I've been told that Lord Worm inhales. But I've never heard McGachy inhale, but then again, I could never get into the unspoken king because I don't like the vocals or the instrumentation.
-
I think TUK was great.
-
@annefrankisaho Well, if the fans can raise the heat, then the band also can. It's all a part of living together.
-
@annefrankisaho Matt never inhaled by the way, just to clarify things...
-
Oh, and dissing the people who your old stuff is very important to so much doesn't put you in a very good light. Anyway, that's all.

Basically, my point is, experimenting artistically isn't defined by "neat" superficialities, and The Unspoken King felt like a collection of those that simultaneously tried to court the deathcore/Kerrang audience. What matters is what intellectual substance there is in the bigger picture, which is why Cryptopsy's old stuff continues to endear rather than be lost in the pile of "brootal" cliche albums.

Flo, as someone who's mostly a jazz/classicalfag, I'm going to level with you. It's not "change" or experimenting that fans are afraid of. Cryptopsy has always been bizarre and experimental, and people don't like NSV because it's "true", but because it's twisted and personal. If anything, the last album felt less experimental because it made itself at home with so many passing trends: the overproduction, inhaled deathcore vocals, pitninja-pandering + "emotive" passages, etc.
Youri man, I support you & your music. All these haters are pissed for something you weren't involved with. Obviously they're too stupid to realize this, but I say you just ignore them, they don't know what it is to be a musician, cos being a musician means being open to any forms of music. Plus everyone who is hating pretty much doesn't have a life, because they're dwelling in the past, instead of just enjoying what they enjoy. So screw all the people who are hating, & go with your fans. Peace.
