@fearleschicken1 That is indeed incorrect. The sir1 shares the 1 million series & the 5 million series. The sir2 only has the 5 million series. Any sir1 that is a 1 million series was an automatic b16a. The sir1 that is a 5 mil ser will be 50xxxxx & 52xxxxx. The sir2 will always be 54xxxxx. Doesn't mean you have a sir2 block w/ the weaker sir1 head. Right above the exhaust mani there will be circles w/ numbers thru them.Like 9/2.Thats 1992. That is the prod year. 92+ = sir2.

@TaffetaEJ6 well jus bought an ek hatch that came with it an the guy told me it was a second gen didn belive em so i did sum researching an what i read was if the engine serial number begins with a 1 its a first gen an if it starts with a 5 its second gen an my block starts with a 5.. correct me if im wrong

@fearleschicken1 How do you know you have a second gen? 88-91 jdm b16a is a sir1 & 92-98 jdm b16a is sir2.
