Wish You Were Here - In Memory of Mom

My Mom, Marci Haynes, passed away on January 3, 2007. Every time I hear the song "Wish You Were Here" by Mark Harris, I imagine it is a letter she sent us from Heaven. So I enlisted my brother (Kurt) and sister (Kim) to make this video. I think this is what she might want to tell us if she could.

Dad - this video is dedicated to you. You are a man of God and a man of honor, and I am proud to call you my Father. Thanks for loving God and for being faithful to Mom for 45 years. You set an awesome example for us, and we love you.

(NOTE: Some of the video footage is dark and the color is off. I only had a cheap camera to use, but I wanted to make the video anyway. I just had to get it done! Also, there are two photo montages in the video: the first contains pictures of Mom with various family members, and the second includes pictures of friends and family who have passed on.)

@0518firedog - Sorry to hear about your grandma. I know it's hard to lose someone you love. Thanks for asking me about song ideas. This song jumped out at me because my mom loved to write letters and it's a song that imagines a loved one could write a letter from heaven. There are other cool songs about people we miss ("Homesick" by MercyMe, "Save a Place for Me" by Matthew West, etc.). But it might be better to find a song that reminds you of her, whether it talks about Heaven or not. :)

@MissyGail37110 - I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad my tribute to my own Mom touched your heart, and I pray that, with time, you can find a way to do the same for your Mom. I didn't make this video for almost a year after she died - I needed that time to just process so many emotions! I'll be praying for you.

@gwp1957 Thankfully my grandpa got saved 6 weeks before he passed away. He passed into Glory on Sept.7 2011 and I can't stop crying because of this video!! I know that I am going to wake up tomorrow with swollen eyes!! I know how hard it is to let go of someone so dear to you and let God have his way even if it means to take them home with Him!! RIP Grandpa Marvin!!
