This is a monologue called One Long Day written by Nathaniel Spears. It's one I've used often for auditions.

Now I filmed my very own version, and instead of simply delivering the monologue, I took a very film maker approach.

Hope you guys enjoy it and the metaphors and symbolism I tried to incorporate.

How's my acting? Sorry, if I went too fast or mumbled over words. At least the message is there. I went for realism here, so, I guess it would make sense.

The clown initially makes me laugh, so I bet you'll all laugh too...until you start to get completely sad!!!

  • i'm thinking about doing it for my audition as well... but somehow i just can't find whole play... where can I get it from?

  • I thought it was a full play too, but I think this monologue is it! I found it online...

  • @DRCTRkjcharmedfreak haha that's awesome. Yea there is no full play. I wrote this a few years ago just for fun on that actorpoint website. Just stumbled apon this vid and i feel pretty flattered right now. good job.

  • Wow, well great job on the writing! I came across it and found I could easily relate to it. Now, I'm completely self conscious about this vid. It's an honor to have you see it though...

    You're #1 fan,

    Dad

  • Thanks. I just use a basic camcorder, and I edit it with Sony Vegas. Early on I used Windows Movie Maker, and that's fine if you're looking to do basic editing. Sony Vegas is more advanced.

  • You're a great actor, keep the awesome vids comming, and hi to you too. BTW you have any recomendations on the type of camera, media and the like I should use for videos, Im thinking about making some.
