Khorakhané (A forza di essere vento) - KHORAKHANE'

Like the Jews, Gypsies were singled out by the Nazis for racial persecution and annihilation. They were 'nonpersons,' of 'foreign blood,' 'labor-shy,' and as such were termed asocials. To a degree, they shared the fate of the Jews in their ghettos, in the extermination camps, before firing squads, as medical guinea pigs, and being injected with lethal substances.

KHORAKHANE'

The hearbeats slow down, the head walks on

I versi finali in "romanes" (la lingua dei rom e dei gitani) sono di Giorgio Bezzecchi, "rom harvato" (cioè "croato") come si specifica nel libretto dell'album.

Nell'album sono cantati da Dori Ghezzi, ma anche la figlia Luvi li ha interpretati nel corso degli ultimi concerti del padre.

I "Khorakhané" (alla lettera: "Amanti del Corano") sono una tribù rom musulmana di origine serbo-montenegrina.

La invito alla lettura del libro "la vergogna e la fortuna" di Bianca Stancanelli - Marsilio editore.

Lo troverà certamente illuminante sui Rom e sui Sinti (che erroneamente accomuniamo nel dispregiativo"zingari"), e sui pregiudizi che spesso condizionano il nostro giudizio su questi popoli. Uno su tutti: il loro presunto nomadismo. Senza per questo fare sconti ingiustificati alla parte di loro che delinque o che assume comportamenti border-line. La saluto.
