Great, I have been procrastinating when it comes to building my overviews because my collection is huge...SSL has been good enough to where I can just load it real time, so I saw no need to do it...but I am getting into remixing heavy and overviews are necessary for that.

I would hate to carry my Pro around to gigs with me.....You said dual quad core right? if so that's 8cores instead of 4, right? My Pro has the same processor setup....I think I should do it on my pro and transfer the music to my MBP. would that work?

Yes 8 cores total, you can build overviews on your Pro then transfer them to your MBP, easiest way to do this is if you have an external drive.
If not the overviews will transfer fine but you may loose information such as bitrate and track length.

Machines is a dual processor server running windows 2003. Each processor is a quad so 4 cores in total.
You can do the same thing with one of the new core i7 processors from intel.
ScratchLIVE will expand to run on the number of cores available.
