Homelessness In Austin

Here's my video documentary about homelessness in Austin.

I endeavored from the start to make sure that all interviews were anonymous.

The United Way in Austin recently announced it was slashing it's funding of the Salvation Army in Austin. The Austin City Council has indicated that they will pay the Salvation Army tax dollars in the amount they were receiving from the United Way.

The big answer to the big question of whether there is adequate help available for homeless people in Austin seems to be this: There is help. You have to jump through some hoops, and it's a little degrading and uncomfortable, but the help is available.

Well part of my intent here was to show if homeless people in the know really think the church bus trips are a good idea. I definitely found homeless people who warned me to stay away from those churchies.
