@tee23en his vertical inst quite 44" even though he has probably has jumped 44" on a fast break when his adrenaline is pumping. but according to ESPN lebrons vertical is just a little north of 40" so probably somewhere near 41-42".

Lebron is not 48 inches. 43 maybe.
He's 6'8" tall. A basketball hoop is 10 feet tall.
That means if he jumped 40 inches off the ground, his head would be level with the rim. (6'8" inches is 80 inches. 120 inches - 80 inches = 40 inches.)
If he jumped 48 inches, that would mean his head would be 8 inches above the rim. He would basically be chin level with the rim.
I've watched a lot of Lebron footage, and he's never been chin level with the rim.
