That's my house that was saved at the end of the video. I still can't watch it, over eight months later, without sobbing. By all rights, the house should be gone. God bless Capt. Butler and all of our firefighters! If he and his men hadn't foamed my house and continued to fight with a continuous curtain of water, I wouldn't be here. This house is all I have. They are my heroes!

I know these people. My mother and the wife of the house hold have been best friends since I was an infant. It was terrible to see thier house destroyed. They had worked so hard to get it. Like DARCI before said: "Not all houses could be saved." Here is to rebuilding in 2008! Pray that fire leaves us alone this year.

The end of the video was my parents house. The house we spent so many years in. It was a terrible fire and it's still hard to watch. I know the firemen did their best but it's hard to listen to them say they're letting it burn to the ground. I know they couldn't save all of them, although I'm sure they wanted to.

Thanks for the comment. Sorry to hear about your parents house! Wish I could have done something to save anything, but there was too much work trying to save myself and stay out of the way. Best of luck in rebuilding!

Great shots. My wife and I lost our home in the La Terraza apartment complex. Seeing some of these shots definitely brings back that crazy morning.

That's a understatement.
