"THE GREAT ESCAPE!" This is a Clip from the Movie "WINGED MIGRATION" (Le Peuple Migrateur, 2003) by Jacques Perrin. It shows a Hyacinth Macaw in the Amazon in Peru escaping from a Trapper's Boat (probably a staged scene -- powerful, nevertheless, in conveying the very real plight & suffering of these animals...).

They are headquartered in the U.S. and their mission is to STOP the TRAPPING of wild Parrots by educating local people and helping them find alternative methods of income. Furthermore, they rehabilitate and release captured Parrots back into the wild.

  • They should buy/adopt/breed instead of trapping these majestic creatures.

Also, why would someone film it?? Did they pay to do this movie on purpose?

  • @fairfresh: This whole movie was staged, so the 'escaping macaw' was most likely a trained bird. Quite realistic tho and drives home the point of the plight of these magnificent animals -- all of them (not just the parrots that endure such untold suffering in the illegal trapping and selling trade at the hand of man).

  • سبحان الله فك أسره بنفسه

  • @alryas100: Yes, he did (of course, it's a movie)! :>)

  • I feel so fortunate to be able to help out where I live, I visit the world parrot refuge on vancouver island. When I visit though, I'm more like a volunteer because I help the workers out and I have gained a few parrot friends, including a beautiful hyacinth macaw :)

  • @koda44312: Bless you for helping these birds! :>)

  • I agree it was in all likelyhood staged, however I'm sure escapes in that sort of situation do happen, those birds are pretty smart. It's terrible that endangered species like that are still being taken from the wild. The only time it's excusable is if something is going to be done with them to increase the likelihood of the survival of the species.

  • We can help to stop this travesty through supporting ecotourism, supporting conservation efforts of wildlife habitat, and by choosing parrot adoption. These choices will make a difference!

  • אבל מסכנים

  • וואי איזה מגניבים הארות בטבע

  • Birds' feathers look different when they are wet.

  • those poor animals ahhaahha that hyacints break out nice

  • @TheMuffinBurgler well if people would'nt buy them at all none of it would happen lol, my point is birds should'nt be in cages at all .

  • @PinkSaltire08 Buying baby birds is what STOPS this from happening. Buying captive bred birds is a huge fork in the electrical plug for poachers.

  • if people would stop buying baby birds this would not happen , so sad :-(
