The holiday of Cinco de Mayo (The 5th Of May), celebrates the victory of Mexican armed forces over the French army at The Battle of Puebla in 1862. Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day, which is September 16. It is mainly a regional holiday celebrated mostly in the Mexican state capital city of Puebla. This event is sponsored the Associated Students.
