More Laying Tefillin at USF

Every Wednesday at the USF Tampa campus's Bull Market Rabbi Uriel Rivkin and friends of the USF Chabad House hold forth at the USF Chabad House Table, 11am to 1pm.

On this Wednesday, Rabbi Efraim Rivkin, visiting from London, England, helped interested students and visitors experience the mitzvah of Tefillin.

Yes. Rabbi Lazer Rivkin is the Senior Rabbi while two of his sons, Rabbi Levi Rivkin, and Rabbi Uriel Rivkin manage different parts of the organization. Sometimes other sons, like Rabbi Ephraim Rivkin of London help out when in town.

As I said, it isn't out of any ascetic reverence, it is because in their eyes you are nothing but a Shiksa ("human filth/abomination" = the word used to commonly refer to non-Jewish women).

@OrthodoxDarwinist No the men do not speak to me because I 'm a female. Men don't talk to women unless they're family. I never took personal offense because I educated myself about their customs and beliefs. If people EDUCATE themselves about others than there would be LESS ignorance and arrogance. Montreal is one of the few cities in the world where Hasids and Gentiles actually live peacefully and respectfully. Maybe we are more open-minded here. Sometimes I thank G-d I live in Canada.

@OrthodoxDarwinist That's funny, I am a gentile and live in a strong Hasidic community in Montreal and they always have been friendly and respectful. The men do not talk to me as I understand why. The women and children are kind and acknowledge me. In fact, I have a cleaning lady that comes to my place once a month and works for a family on my street and she tells me they are the kindest and most caring family she ever worked for. They buy her birthday and CHRISTMAS presents and are generous.
