I used to on on BSK, if you were in the eastern area, and we we learned on 8s, we started 16 counts right before I moved. .. and this by far might be my favorite figure.. if you slowed it down a lot, you would do a lot better. just try it with 12 or 16. it helps a lot.

Thanks caleyrainbow for the tip! I need to get new videos out to see if I've actually improved with all the great advice I've received :O)

Work on keeping your hips at the surface. Here's an excercise my coaches have us do that might help:
1. Lie on your back on the floor, arms by your sides. Bend one leg and leave the other one extended.
2. Do a "pelvic thrust" so that your hips are elevated above the floor.
3. Slowly raise your extended leg to ballet leg (Keep your hips pushed through!) Lower your leg slowly until it is about an inch off the floor. Repeat.
Hope this helps! :)

Hi there, I just use a regular foot first scull. If I were you, I would practice the ballet leg with one foot hooked on the side of the pool if you can for some support. When you go from back layout position to bent knee, you need to scull faster and then from bent knee to ballet leg, even faster. People usually end up sinking because they stop sculling once they lift their leg up. Good luck!
