In those times, the name "Bulldog" was one name used for what we call a Pit Bull today. These were Bull and Terrier dogs. The little pug nose bulldog was Never used to fight! The movie depicted the right "bulldog" in the fight scene. Huskies & wolves are powerful but not game fighters.

White Fang was Hybrid. Wolves have no interest in fighting unless it's for their survival. Game Bred Pit Bulls (the real bona-fide BULLDOG) are genetically bred to fight to the finish. Sure, you wouldn't ask a 35 lbs. bulldog to overcome a canine four times it's size (although it's been done). It should tell you how awesome a Pit Bull is for these dumb comparisons to keep coming up! The Pit Bull is pound for pound the greatest and gamest athlete of the canine family. ;-)

@berzerkerkin keep in mind pits can pull 15,00 pounds easily and it takes alot of huskys just to pull a sleed look up some weight pull comps theyre will be some on here you will see iam against dog fighting iam just saying a husky are malamute wouldnt stand a chance

@IAmPedofileAlways your right, the old english bulldog was really fast because it actually had whippet bred into it to improve speed and they did that with out reducing the dog's agression. it actually made the old english bulldog smaller but deadlier. plus the old english bulldog is smaller than the american bulldog which is it's closest descendant.
