Who would have thought in 1991 that Julie Andrews would lose her soprano voice in less than a decade? Of course I was not among the pessimists; a
failure of throat surgery was out of the question. I wish she had chosen a more trustworthy surgeon back in June 1997--not only for herself but for all the fans of the lady who played Eliza Doolittle, Queen Guenevere, Mary Poppins, and Maria von Trapp. I realize the malpractice is a great loss for all of those who love Julie Andrews.

It's such shame that My Fair Lady and Camelot weren't recorded in its entirety. Two pieces of Broadway history lost forever....
