Filmed on the illustrious campus of Georgia Southern University.

  • What did this accomplish or teach us?

  • @gl1tchofficial hopefully this taught you a little something about norms, deviance, and maybe the social construction of reality. If you would like to learn more you should take one of my Soci1101 classes.

  • @npalmerGSU As a former graduate student of GSU's school of psychology, I am not making the connection between this and any practical data.

  • @gl1tchofficial oops. Your FB page said Georgia Southern so I mistakenly assumed you were still a student at GSU. My mistake.

Hopefully, this illustrates how we use norms and social sanctions to constantly create reality. This broad concept is the bedrock of many more practical sociological lessons. However, if students don't understand this abstract yet fundamental concept, none of the practical lessons can be understood.

  • I wanna do this im currently in you sociology class right now!!

  • @akurtula They went for about 25 minutes. Any longer and I worried a locked kneed student would pass out :)

  • this is very interesting, how long did they do this for

  • Nathan, I'm trying this with my class on Friday afternoon! I will let you know how it goes. Very cool idea and tweak of the initial exercise!

  • This is cool! You should do something crazy like this will all of your sections.

I think it would help us learn more about the actual ideas, just by applying them to real life.
