  • oh no!!

    no carpet!! : )

think mold, go with hard wood!!

Thanx 4 sharing, good job on battery box. I'm venting mine thru the floor with solar powered fan.

  • Yes, I know carpet can be a problem... but to me it has the advantages of luxury feel, warmth, gets rid of dust, & you can kneel on it without knackering your knees. So that's four pluses in my book. & I'm treating it with mould retardant spray.

In a motorhome, the floor area is small so if it does get stained or mouldy after a few years, it is cheap to replace, and once you've fitted one, the old one makes a nice template to cut the new one so you can fit the replacement in no time at all :)

  • @X00000013 Having tested both myself, I'm converted to carpet (actually washable doormats!). A plain wood floor always feels gritty and needs constant sweeping. Carpet/matting may be less hygienic in attracting and absorbing muck and grime but it also keeps it in one place and removable mats are easily brushed/beaten outside the van!
