open canvas is free and its actually a really powerful tool, ive done some great work on it despite it missing some of the fancier options like in photoshop etc..
or just look about the torrent sites for the one u want, if u decide u like you could buy it (or not).

Very good! You're obviously someone who could draw equally as well on paper. I keep thinking about getting one of these for my artwork but I feel that I'm cheating. I may get one just as another method of drawing and painting.
