Once at the space station, the STS-119 crew members will install the final set of solar arrays. The S6 truss will complete the backbone of the station and provide one-fourth of the total power needed to support a crew of six.

Commander Lee Archambault leads Discovery's crew of seven, along with Pilot Tony Antonelli, and Mission Specialists Joseph Acaba, John Phillips, Steve Swanson, Richard Arnold and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Koichi Wakata Space Station.

  • I have reviewed more than a few STS-119 launches from a variety of positions and equipment. Thus far, this videos representation (and quality) of the launch is as close of a true reproduction of actually being there (and yes, I was there). This launch (and I have been to a lot of them) was the most picturesque I have every seenKudos to this film maker in his efforts to share the experience as I saw it in person.
