That comment was made right after the video was posted over a year ago. You can check out Flightglobal for the explanation why the Altn Gear position was used.

Doubtful.
They could be left open for a hydraulics test (which is sometimes required), they could've been open because the pilots wanted to test the manual gear lowering system. they could've been open due to a braking issue, or overheated tired.
A million reasons for them to be open during a landing test But just lack of proper stowing probably wasn't one of 'em. :)

I just learned that in the 787 there is a system that can predict turbulance so all the pilot has to do is slow to 290 knots and then the aircraft computer will do the rest for a smoother flight.

i know that this might sound stupid but it doesn't look like a boeing in a traditional manner. It's not ugly, though the 757 looks better
