Let me be the one to point out how funny and ironic it is that the name of the actress playing Johanna is named Lucy Barker? xD

@MrAaronWomball It's a new take on the show, I'd certainly be bored if directors felt that they weren't able to try out their ideas. E.g I saw Merchant of Venice last year at the RSC set in a vegas style city, complete with Elvis impersonators and US accents, it was really interesting and made me look at parts of the play very differently. I understand that some people may not have enjoyed it but it was great that the director felt free enough to try something different :-)

@Sweeney541 might have to check it out. i hope it does

The weakest link's within this production when i saw it in chichester was Luke Brady and James McConville, they just don't live up to the rest of the incredible cast, but i am happy there is going to be a cast recording which will be on sale whilst they are at the Adelphi!!

@Sweeney541 he has no purpose in his lenghty vowel sounds, and he warbles to much.
As much as i LOVE Sweeney Todd, and I'm sure this is a great production. What the fuck is with the modern (ish) costume and the neon "Lovett's Hot Pies" sign.
It's based in the 1800's! It's not fucking Greese with a razor!

@MrAaronWomball It's been updated to the 1930s in this production, which works surprisingly well.
