I have been a fan of cooking shows for many years. For me, it all started with Julia Child, Jeff Smith, and Justin Wilson. I prefer the format of those shows to all of the shows on the Food Network. I detest the competitive cooking shows, I detest Paula Dean, and I detest Semi-Homemade. Shows like the Frugal Gourmet were good natured, entertaining, and very educational. We need a lot more Jeff Smiths and a lot less backstabbing, pompous judges, corner cutting, and butter gluttons.
