Top Tangler eluded me for a full year. In 2004 at the US National Yo-Yo Contest, I watched John Ando do horizontal tangler in his 2A yo-yo freestyle. IT BLEW MY MIND! I tried and tried to do that with tops. About 30 minutes before spintop freestyles in 2005, I FINALLY LANDED IT! ON CAMERA!!!! My friend Poncho had been watching me try for about 45 minutes before I landed it. We were stoked! And it wasn't until I watched the video that I saw that one of my top heroes, Mr. Jon Gates, saw me land it! CRAZY! I didn't get tangler back to my hands on stage, but I got into it and so I was super stoked.
