A bit higher on the difficulty scale for a Beatles tune, but it's a fun piece that will amaze your friends and may even get you that job promotion.

  • im 14 years old and i play violin and guitar but i have never played piano. for chrismas my parents gave me a keyboard, its no so good as a real piano but its enough for me. i neves thought i could play Imagine or Hey Jude but you explain it so good that with practic it can be very easy to learn. i love your videos and they are really useful. Happy Holydays from Chile and keep as this. PD: I would love if you can do a tutorial of Live and Let Die of Paul McCartney and Wings :)

  • @dsuper19 That's great, congratulations on learning the songs. You have quite the musical talent to play violin, guitar, and to be able to pick up the songs I've done as well. Happy holidays to you in Chile! Keep up the great work!

  • Hi John, you would die laughing if you could see the look of sheer terror on my face after watching just the opening minute of this particular tutorial :))

  • @chalyminx lol, perfectly understandable, this one's a bit of a challenge! :-)

  • I've just bought me a piano about 3weeks ago and am determined to learn.

your videos have been very helpfull! i've learned lady madonna and this solo (though not yet at pace) and was wondering if you could do the rest of the song?

    keep up the good work!

  • @Bleddyn38 I'd love to do a tutorial on the rest of the song, just haven't had a chance to put one together yet. It's another one that's a little difficult to teach on a video, but it can be done. Glad you liked this one, thanks!

  • you are a champ great job

  • Mr. Lennon?! Hah, is that really you, John? Anyway, I'm a new subscriber and a HUGE fan, PianoJohn!

On solos like this or the intro to Sexy Sadie (I'm assuming it's McCartney on both), it's just fantastic that an unschooled musician like him came up with them. I always suspected George Martin of doing this solo but he wasn't credited for it, hence...

Keep up the GREAT work. Wishing you more successes!

  • well my left ear enjoyed this video

  • Aw This piano is so adorable! :D

Gaaaaaahhh. I just want to pick it up and carry it around in my pocket. ^_^

  • I thought the left hand rolled with the right hand?

  • @BeatleMathYT Paul's right hand was too weak because he's left handed and the right is very busy in this solo.

  • @enolaniaga George Martin played it. Paul was pretty strong in the left hand because he is left handed, but he was too slow with his right at the time, which is understandable. Imagine playing the fast parts with your wrong hand.

  • @BeatleMathYT Nah, Martin always played the bits the others couldn't. Trust me, if McCartney could have done it he would have, as independent as he liked to be.
