Workers at Starbucks face many challenges- inconsistent scheduling, poverty wages, arbitrary treatment by management, difficulty taking time off work due to illness, and other issues. All of these problems are compounded for mothers who work at Starbucks. In this video, a working mother at Starbucks tells her story of juggling schedules, taking care of the kids, breastfeeding at work, scraping by on wages that don't keep up with the cost of living, and ultimately being forced out by "optimal scheduling."

  • I HATE STARBUCKS. I WORKED FOR THE STORE IN DOWNTOWN MIAMI. I GOT PAYED A POOR WAGE OF 7.75 AND THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE ME I WAS A "PARTNER" ITS BULLSHIT. THEY WERE ALWAYS TRYING TO KEEP ME MOVING AND CLEANING EVEN WITH NO CUSTOMERS AND IT WAS A VERY DISSAPOINTING WORK ENVIRONMENT. THEY TRIED TO TELL ME HOW THEY PAY THE COFFEE FARMERS MORE FOR THE COFFEE SO THEY CAN GIVE BACK THEMSELVES..WELL HOW ABOUT FUCKING PAYING YOUR EMPLOYEES A DECENT WAGE AS WELL SO THEY CAN LIVE. FUCKING WORTHLESS

  • I know, I am tired of people thinking crud jobs are beneathe them. I mean, what makes them think they have a stable golden throne to sit upon? The difference between the homeless and someone with a good job is only a few paychecks. Anyone can run into problems, and they will do anything to get back on their feet, like take on a minimum wage job. Ya gotta eat, and people have to actually get their hands dirty to eat, but that's not a shameful thing

    HOLY JESUS LOVE FOR ALL

    ALL HOLY PRAYERS FOR

    ALL GOD FEARING SOULS!!

  • I've worked for Starbucks since Dec. 2005, took a 5 month break and had to return for the health insurance due to a health scare. It's a good job if you have nothing else in your life. But they pride themselves on having a great "work-life" balance and that is bull. I'm a full time student, with 19 credit hours, after changes in availability, they never put it in effect, they still give me 35+ hours a week, schedule me during class and then it's my responsibility to cover my shifts.

  • what do you expect? your boss is a zionist jew.

  • This age of entitlement we live in is sickening. When you have a job that requires no trained skills and no education, you simply can't expect to have life delivered to you on a silver platter by your employer.

  • If it sucks that bad, why do the same people that work at my local store still work there after 6+ years?!!! And that's just as long as I've known them. Who knows how many were there years before I started going in. Also, this chick sounds like a complete slacker who uses her status as a "mother" as an excuse. It's not your employers job to help you care for your child. Which you shouldn't have had and can't afford. BIRTH CONTROL ANYONE? Poor child.

  • @imnotemo888 It's not just Starbucks. I work at a movie Theater that's already like that and they're no where near as popular. I don't even get 7.75. What they think is professional is just craziness. It makes their customers feel uncomfortable and apprehensive. We don't want them to spill or make a mess or anything because we'll have to zoom from the roof or parking lot or wherever we are to take care of it within milliseconds or there are serious reprimands.

    Greed is universal my friend.

  • @VxKingPinxV They could make profit, thing is that they want MAXIMUM profit. That's what the main problem is

  • Fight back join the IWW Starbucks Union.
