21-year-old Julia Ruscher is a math genius. Numbers have been her passion from an early age. Now she is studying at the Berlin Mathematical School, where she is involved in research projects in Israel and the US.

Julia Ruscher's area of expertise is stochastic processes, which seek to make sense of seemingly random occurrences. Her research focuses on the growth of animal and human populations. We spend a day with Julia Ruscher at university in Berlin and take a look behind the scenes at math research at the highest level.

  • She is obviously talented but genius? No, i don't think so. She made headlines because generally women researchers are ordinary or average/below average looking, but Julia is very beautiful. By the way, rabbits are the cutest things on earth!

  • When a really beautiful girl, with a banging body ( 2:30 ) can do college level math, she's considered a genius.

When a male indian like myself does college level math, no one gives a shit.

    Imagine if she was blonde!

  • From my experience as a college student, I can say that the statement, "Beauty and intelligence don't go together" is plain bullshit.

  • It is foolishness like this that makes me think "genius" is just another faulty premise. One manufactured and applied by people with an extremely overblown idea of what a topic really demands of the person who is learning it. Mostly used as a excuse not to actually attempt at achieving a certain level of understanding. Or to bolster the ego of the people who are simultaneously massively arrogant and under skilled.

  • oh man shes taking finance math=[=[

    traitor!

  • @MrElephantMemory well the media always has to play things up, but I do know many brilliant women mathematicians, I'm actually interested in knowing what kind of advancements or insights Juilia's work provides over all. I am an Applied Mathematician myself.

  • Not a computer in sight, what mathematician worth his or her salt does not impliment their models in computers, I ask you. Even during the Manhatten Project Richard Feynman's dream was to have a series of IBM calculators constructed for his equations. He built them and, working with Hans Bethe, solved the yield of an atomic weapon. He was worthy of the genius title, seeing the problem yet cutting The Gordian Knot to solve it.

  • ellen page look a like - sort of?

  • 1:43 The grey rabbit was looking for a quick shag haha

  • Wonderful

  • hot chick
