@RyokoLeigh I agree. I actually think this scene proves she got her sense of humor from not only Emily but Richard too (although we tend to see Richard's more). They banter with each other like she banters with them--I love it.

@FashionistoIRE but thats normal, parents always feel they know best for their children, especially given how stubborn they can be, very much so in the case of Emily and Richard

It always annoys me that Emily and Richard felt they knew better and had some sort of control over Lorelai's life despite her living on her own since 16 and doing fine for herself.
It also annoyed me Luke and Emily's distaste for each other was never cleared up.
