A Day on Tristan Da Cunha

I was lucky enough to spend one full day on the remotest island in the world. Tristan Da Cunha is remarkably beautiful--a giant green and black volcano in the very middle of the South Atlantic. The people, one of the most isolated populations on earth, are so hospitable and friendly--I was honored to be able to meet so many of them.

It is, but it is uninhabited. Tristan da Cunha is the most remote inhabited island on earth. :)

I am surprised that there was no mention or video of the volcano. The island had to be evacuated during the eruption and the inhabitants were housed in remote areas of Scotland to avoid "culture shock"

I spent 3 days at the island in the early 70's

pitcairn is the most remote there are 4 islands pitcairn being one of them but they are called the pitcairn islands but anywaz 2 of the 4 are populated and the other 2 are completly unpopulated

Tristan de Cunha is the remotest inhabited island on earth, but Bouvet island is the most remote.

It does look real pretty there, I would like to check it out.
