Update: I say Cabernet Sauvignon, but I meant "Sauvignon Blanc" ...happens to the best of us, right? - The home winemaker will typically use a basic acid titration kit to measure acidity in wine because other manners can be quite expensive. This is still a good accurate test that you can rely on especially when you have become consistent in the process. This video shows how. Just to clarify... when I have added enough sodium hydroxide to the sample to achieve my color change, I am subtracting the amount of hydroxide left in the syringe from what I used. We started with 10cc's and we used 7cc's. So that gave us an acidity reading (expressed as TA) of .7%

  • thanks for sharing. this same acid kit had me stumped.

  • @imnophd Glad it helped!

  • Thanks, this helped me out a lot.

  • @84728472 My pleasure. Thank you.

  • It's obviously white... so it's not a cabernet :) I meant to say "Sauvignon Blanc" in the video. We are taking an acidity reading on a white wine. Hope this is helpful.
