  • IS there a firmware update that will allow my OPLay read data from my 3TB Wester digital external hardrive. I keep getting the message: Device not supported. I was told that this is because these 3TB harddrives are new but I need to know if there is a firmware update to fix this problem. I have the Oplay HDP_R1 model. Thanks!

  • @swaver101

Are you sure ?? ... i'm browsing right now in the Asus site

  • @pacovideos I Cannot find the download ANYWHERE they are all dead links i need help i neeed to update firmware i am rockin old 1.26.......... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help

  • Can't get updates from asus as the download always fails regardless of what revision i try to get. For some reason my asus o play HDP-R1 no longer sees m2ts files which are too big to fit on a usb stick so i now have no way of playing them.

Currently using firmware 1.30pal dont know why my unit has started to not see the m2ts files all of a sudden !!

  • Go to the Asus official site to download the firmware file. It is about 36MB.

Decompress the file and copy the install.img into your USB disk.

    1. Insert the USB Flash drive( install.img inside ) to USB port of your Media Player.

    2. Press the SETUP button on the Remote controller and the setup screen will be displayed.

    3. Click on the System item and press OK. Then navigate to the system Upgrade and press OK to start updating.

    4. may take about 4~5 minutes. Don't turn off it or restart it

  • @diokdin Yes, that has just happened to me, turned into a brick. Luckily, it's still within the exchange period, so I'm about to get it swapped out from Fry's

  • do you have to have the file on a flash drive or dose it download it from the internet?

  • I heared there's plenty of asus O play turn into a brick after the firmware update...

  • too bad you can't watch a movie while it installs
