Usain Bolt running at an easy pace after finishing a 100m sprint. Looking very smooth and compact. Landing very close under te body, touching the ground with the BOF (ball of foot) first. At the moment of touch down his swingknee is allready beside his support knee due to his ability to recover the swingleg very quick and efficient. His knee bend at the end of support (or lack of extension) seems to be the first sign of this, as pushing off will lead to longer groundcontact times as you cannot pull a foot that's busy pushing.

  • @hxnncht The title of the vid is pretty clear and it shows exactly what it says. Next time read better and if the title doesn't suit your interest, just skip it. It'll protect you from freaking out which is bad for your health.

    Lots of articles/media about running, mention a landing on the forefoot for fast running (sprint) and a rear foot landing for easy running. Natural good runners (the majority of elite runners) will not fit in that picture as they land on the BOF regardless speed.

  • @hxnncht The title is "EASY running" This is one of THE fastest humans in the world. Just because he runs fast doesnt mean he has to run fast ALL THE TIME.. In the video he is just easy running! Meaning running, but taking it easy! Sheesh!

  • Running efficiency will always be debatable; everyone is different. Personally I run mid distance (10-15k ish) on my forefeet because it helps me slightly increase my lactate threshold and breathing efficiency/frequency. Totally a personal thing
