No, this is not the first MMO ever. There was Never Winter Nights, then Meridian 59 before this.

@GouledXD It's less unforgiving than it was when it first came out. Now you can rez when you die, back in the day if you died you were looking at a half hour+ corpse run then another 6 hours of grinding to get your lost exp back. I play on Xenogy which seems to have a lot of folks playing

It's going F2P, I am definitely playing this (because I'm hipster like that). Can anyone tell me if the community is active, also which server is the most active/populated. I've heard that EQ is unforgiving (as were games of the era). I think I could really enjoy a hardcore game if it had an amazing community. un-instanced dungeons, oh my god.

@SmoothYogurt ASheron's call is superior. maybe not graphically..but..i just started to play AC again, and im coming from SWTOR. which, was ok from 1-50 for the story..then..bleh. SWTOR end game = roll an alt.
