Car companies make more money off parts and service than selling of a new car. Why would you sell a product with less moving parts. No motor no oil sales, no oil sales no filter sales, and so on and so on. The car is the only thing you can tear apart and sell the peices off for more than selling the whole thing. Besides our infrastructure is not set up for service electric cars. If you think hybids are the savoirs of the environment have a look at the area around the Toyota Prius plant

Why would I pay more for less, electric cars are paying more for less, then factor in a battery replacement in 3 years and the cost goes even higher. Electric is still only good for golfcarts
