  • This movie was a huge hit in 1976. I remember seeing it when I was 11 years old. One of the more recent KING KONG books has it that the movie's reputation as a bomb came out of one of Paramount's executives saying he was disappointed that the box office was less that JAWS. That statement became twisted around to have you believe that the movie was a financial and critical flop. More critics liked the 76 version than the 2005 version. Go figure.

  • @Demille40 Thanks for the facts and backstory. I don't want to come-off as a total geek, but I love it when people chime in, I think that's the promise of online media and I love it when people come through.

  • love this movie!!! (but i want the sequel to DIE!!!!!!!)

  • I have never seen the sequel. I don't know if I ever will.

  • btw, queen kong was put on dvd in 2003. you can find it on ebay.

  • trust me, it's by far one of the worst films i have ever seen in my life. if, for whatever reason, you're curious, someone put the whole film up on youtube.

  • Queen Kong was a comedy, not a rip-off, get your facts right before making these videos!

  • I thought the movie worked until they got to New York. However, I will take this opinion to my grave.

  • umm your a goose this is a masterpiece ahead of its time jessica lange was wonderfull and the film is timeless and very very underappreciated 10 out of 10

  • I saw Dino DeHorrendous's version when I was 11...I liked it too..Rick Baker was great as Kong...even if he was uncredited..I love how the giant semi-animatronic Kong bears NO resemblance to Baker's ape suit...watch for it in a few scenes...you will know it when you see it...
