Tried and true design.
A reliable handgun.
I am a S&W guy so I am prejudiced.
I do Ruger too but S&W has a gun for every need.
( I have a Blackhawk but don't shoot it much)
For pure pleasure and challenge I use an S&W 642...it was the hardest one to master, so I get an extra rewards and satisfaction from the 3in groups I can now consistently get at 15yds.
A 2 in barrel makes you work for the results.

@erykwelde Also Roger Murtaugh's

I had one of these - in 4 inch barrel length, with S&W Target Hammer and Trigger. I could shoot the sweat of a gnat's behind at 50 - count 'em - 50 yards. The trigger pull was polished and tuned to about two pounds on single action, with a squeeze like butter. Sigh. The only S&W .357s around now are clunky J-Frame pigs, and shooting them is like trying to hold a twenty pound dumbbell steady. I wish my Glock were half as easy to shoot accurately as my old Model 19....

How much did the reblue job run? I've got a 19-2 made around '65 I'd love to have redone. It's been a holster queen, but it has some smudges in the bluing.

@deussolinvictus Think it was $230-260 that was without shipping. Took about two weeks.
