Hello thank you for sharing and hope your feeling better. I wonder why the doctors did not do a serum protein electrophoresis test because that would of shown a gammopathy early with the M-spike in the densetomitor. Take care and hope you are 100%.
God Bless.

Hi "lolzalways", It is not up to me to tell you what you should do. I'm no doctor. That decision is between you and the doc. Stemcell transplant are necessary in many cases because of complications and resistance to meds. The one thing that is for sure is to collect the stemcells. If he is in remission, maintenance treatment is #1 so that he can remain at zero for as long as possible. And they can gradually decrease the dosage within 18 months. Monitering the desease is the best.

I've known over the past 3 years that some docs are quick to go to stemcell transplants. Once transplanted, less options are available if he relapses. With stemcells in freezer, they can always perform it later, if need be. Once transplanted, his bone marrow will never be the same. Transplantation is not a cure. It is strickly a treatment to break the desease. Read and inquire more about it. Don't trust just one source. Science and meds advance very rapidly about MM. Good luck !

These videos were look back at my own evolution (positive or negative) at battling this cancer. I realize now that in more ways than expected, it helped others. I'm happy for that. I don't pretend to have to cure. But we must start with curing our attitude. If we can't change the situation, we must change our attitude towards it. I decided to live with cancer, not suffer from it. I stopped dreaming my life ... I rather live my dreams. With no stemcell transplant yet, I am still going strong.

Thank you!
I am 37 and diagnosed with multiple myeloma after my 2 year old son fractured my collar bone last Autumn falling off the bed! This led to further investigations due to my age, fractures shouldn't happen that easily.It was a shock to be diagnosed at 36 with an older person's cancer but God has been my strength and next week I go into hospital for a bone marrow transplant.

@Caroline
Thanks for sharing your story. Don't despair. There is hope. I am the living proof. I was diagnosed in Dec. 2008, not in remission but close. Controling the cancer is the best hope. The new drugs available today are capable for us to maintaining a quality of life. I feel great and still, realizing some of my dreams.
Stay focused on what you like to do ... and do it !
Good luck on your transplant and stay tune as I will be posting new videos in the next few weeks.
