Taken from Ayreon's Elected EP. Originally to be titled Ayreon Vs. Avantasia due to media stirrings of a rivalry because both bands released their rock operas on the same day. This is a collaboration of Arjen Anthony Lucassen and Tobias Sammet covering an Alice Cooper classic

Avantasia and Ayreon are not comparable. Ayreon uses a strict storyline method for every song on an album. Tobias even stated that Avantasia's albums Metal Opera I and II were the only metal opera albums he was going to ever release. Avantasia is great melodic power metal band, Ayreon is metal opera through and through. I enjoy both bands equally.

I didnt even know who or what avantasia was when 01011010 came out...Now I constantly listen to both...goddamnit music is awesome

If I was going to spend eternity in the cold darkness of space with the discography of only one of these two, it would be Arjens work, but only just and I would mournfully miss Avantasia. They are both amazing and this delightful collaberation confirms that.

It's nice to see there's minimal argument about whether Ayreon or Avantasia are better. It would be stupid if a collaboration between two incredibly talented artists triggered off some malicious debate.. Stay Metal \m/

@jordanleroo WRONG!. Indeed Tobi said that The Metal Opera I and II would be the only metal opera almbus he was going to release. However The Scarecrow Triology also are Metal Opera Albums. And ofcourse, your comment is 2 years old.. So you don't know about Angel of Babylon and The Wicked Symphony at that time, But if you listened to "The Scarecrow" you can HEAR it has a story
