Just getting in their "face time." They figure if others see them praying, then those others must assume that they are squared-away. Didn't Jesus say that he didn't really approve of this type of prayer? With all the moving about and whatnot? In the end it comes down to what is in your heart. All the rituals and long hair on the sides isn't going to save you.
