This vid is to show the symptoms of a starting problem my 90 CBR1000F was having. In the end, it was the starter clutch damper that was knackered. The following link shows step by step how to replace a starter damper clutch in a CBR1000F model motorcycle: http://www.stu.co.nz/cbr1000fix

  • so it was the starter clutch?

because my FJR make the same noise and I'm going to replace it

  • @254lele yes, starter clutch was dodgied by the previous owner, and was slipping

  • I have suffered from the same symptom, too. The cause is a cell motor and sliding of the dampers

  • thanks. I've placed a new damper on the alternator shaft, but now it just spins. No traction at all.

  • Battery for sure..

  • batter is fine, it's the starter clutch waering out...

  • very cool of you to post this in an effort to help..kudos

  • check there no grease on the bendix thats where the cog twists in and out tot engage. there should be no grease or oil on the shaft as it makes it stick and then not engage. hop this helps. great bike I have a 87 cbr 1000f here in Australia. when we had the fires I had to leave my house and had to leave here in the garage. I was more concerned getting back to make sure the bike was ok than the house, they are gettin on to be colectors items soon. good luck

  • Hello.

At first I take off an engine, and tackling is not possible if I do not break a crankcase.

Because it was very difficult, you had better talk with the store of Honda.

I think the cause to be reliable by the sliding of the cell damper.

  • sorry bro, i have absolutely no idea what you are saying. thanks anyway :)

  • こんには、

    スタータークラッチの滑りですね。

    以前、同じ症状、故障になりました。

    ダンパー、ワンウェイクラッチ交換が必要ですね。
