As they say, you can't live in fear, but please be careful as there are a lot of jerks out there. I would say keep a Taser gun with you, it will bring the largest man down and render him immobile and if you need to, shock the SOB dozens of times just for fun to teach him a lesson for messin' with you in the 1st place.....Be safe and have fun.

I like the ideas you brought up. Very good thoughts. One item brought to my attention after taking a spill in one of my videos was, 'falling'. It is the number one cause for accidents in the woods, apparently. No, luckily, I wasn't hurt that time.

I have camped alone. Lived alone in the woods for sometime as I was homeless and hiked the Ouchita Trail by myself. The main risk is redneck men. A big knife or a handgun and pepper spray. Its great and empowering to camp alone.

@GungHo1032 Bigfoot doesn't exist

@hellokitty2007 Do you actually know what a redneck is besides a insult created from stand up comedians ?

@SmallWorldFilms Not to worry. I'm a rural gun owner that has been using firearms as a farm tool and hunting since the age of 8 years old. It's the suburban and urban gun owners that concern me.
The lazer frightens the heck out of man and beast.
During the whole video I was thinking about solo camping the way I`ve done it for years, me, a tent and the woods but the near the end you say "get into the car" and you lost me. If your car is right there you just get out, but if you have to walk 3 miles to reach the park rangers, I'd say that is riskier by far. Go car camping, buy some police strength pepper spray, works well on drunks and junkies, trust me I'v used the stuff a hundred times.

@cameraguy1968 That's a really good point. I go camping with my car nearby, but not everyone does. Those who go farther into the wilderness really need to plan things out more carefully.

I am 2x at risk then you.
Being a female and not being white, at least in appearance.
If a redneck sees me park my car and walk into the woods along it's almost guaranteed I'll be raped and murdered.

@hellokitty2007 Hellokitty, it's a shame (and that's a severe understatement) that you are probably right about our risks based on appearance. I can't gloss over that, and I'm sorry it is true. I would just say that most of the people I encountered weren't rednecks (in the negative sense). I've actually had more problems in the north.

Camp with a Ruger Sp101 equiped with a lazer grip and you'll never have to use it.

@hunt458 and GungHo1032; your suggestions imply that you expect trouble from humans rather than animals. Having weapons requires responsibility on your part; being sure that you know who or what you are pointing it at before pulling the trigger; making sure that your judgment isn't clouded by fatigue or by use of drugs or alcohol.
I hope that it is your intent. If not, please let me know where and when you'll be camping so that I can be somewhere else. That's how I avoid trouble.
