PolyU Library in Second Life (Jul 2009)

HK PolyU Library has created the Asia's 1st 3D virtual academic library in Second Life for supporting the Universitys learning and teachings needs.
Second Life is a free 3D virtual world where users can socialize, connect and create using voice and text chat. Users can use it as an alternate way to access librarys e-resources, talk to avatar librarians, and attend workshops, library activities and exhibitions. They can also stay connected to the library and other students in a creative virtual environment.

虛擬人生(Second Life)為一個免費注冊的電腦三維虛擬世界。你可隨時隨地以聲音及文字在虛擬世界中與其他用者接觸交流。用者不但可藉此探索理工大學圖書館的各式電子資源，更可向虛擬圖­書館館員查詢、參加圖書館工作坊、活動及展覽等。
