i have a dvd/vcr recorder and with my old tv had digital cable and was able to record tv show,i recently bought a hdtv and the back of it only has input and no output.my cable provider told me since i have only broadcaster i can't record cuz i have no outputs.any help on this? were can i get an output device? my dvd vcr has no built in tuner either/

BIG HIGHLIGHT! be sure that people understand YOU " MUST " have a "TUNER" between the television and the DVD recorder....... YOU CANNOT CONNECT A DVD RECORDER DIRECTLY INTO A TV.... IT WON'T WORK....... YOU MUST HAVE A "TUNER" BETWEEN THE TV & DVD RECORDER ... in your video - you "secretly" stuck in the word VCR.... you didn't mention that you MUST HAVE VCR (TUNER) hooked up ALSO ......

im having a problem, my dvd recorrder need a remote to take off the settings in the dvd and i lost my remote. how can i use my tv remote to do it?

@25FreakOuts Check if your dvd recorder/player has a firewire cable. You can connect it to a PC that way, w/o use of a USB. If you want to, however, see if your Dvd reorder has a usb port. |Good luck :).

@wasssuppp08 scart is just componet in one plug like hdmi, most devices do not take advantage of the higher quality its like using a gold plated set of plugs, it does nothing

@wasssuppp08 South America is more primitive. I even didn't know that scart it existed. I use these 'colourful' cables to connect my DVD recorder to my Cable TV receiver and HDMI from it to my LCD TV.
