It did technically drop a few flakes on Christmas Evening, but the bulk of the storm waited until after midnight. While Raleigh only got 6" of snow at the airport; just 16 miles East in Wendell and Zebulon, we got 8" of snow.
It wouldn't be the holiday if the transmitter doesn't burp, and we went to half power after a power bump at 8:30 this morning. We have been off the air for two Christmas mornings in a row, but did not have problems last year. This year it waited until the day after, just like the snow.
Much of this video is the trip to the transmitter site. Matt from WRAL arrived a few minutes before I did and all stations were 100% just before 10:00 AM.
My dog Zeus enjoyed the ride and playing in the snow.
