There are 3 basic contracts for Cabin Crew at BA. Old contract well over the odds.  New contract a bit high but not too bad Gatwick Contract below market rate.

You all need to get your facts right before commenting. As a frequent flyer and a businessman, I have seen the effects of the situation and the reality that the press dont want to report or seem to ignore . You and quite a few others (here and elsewhere) are feeding off twisted bits of reality fed to you by the media.

are you sure they get 30K???? I don't know, because I don't know anyone who works as cabin crew in BA, but I find that very hard to believe.

There was one worker on the news earlier stating that her basic salary is 11k. Its a bit less than 30k!! Are you sure they get a regular 30 k salary??

its counter-productive to assume unions wrong for the poss reduction of a service you might personally rely on. if you are a worker, then one day that attitude might honestly catch up with you and others when your management are emboldened by the ability of these managers to crush workers and crush you. Remember, they'll get out of you as much as they can and give you as little as they can possibly give. Its called business.

Optimally you'd work for nothing, and they'd rake in the cash.

I don't work for BA and I don't know anyone who does, and in fact, I know someone who works for a rival and gets less for the same job, however, if you had a family and worked for an amount that you based your commitments around, then a significant pay cut would amount to serious financial difficulties. We don't know all the ins and outs, only what we hear in the news. Management say they need to make cuts, union says they are unrealistic. have you looked at the figures?? I haven't.

@citizen132002 You forgot the JHB -LON route ,suprise supriseb,its awful compared to SAA and Emirates and im ashamed to say Air Zimbabe ,ive never flown British Airways since 2005 i was treated like shit by cabin crew even asking for a glass of water , fuck them they can dig their own graves hope the unions will pay their rent and wages or will i with my shit job and wages/tax they are assholes if they strike when people are taking pay cuts and working extra hours just for shit jods

The next time someone tells me they are BA cabin crew and want a lift home at the end of a party, or a day of work, I will offer to give them a life, drive out to the countryside in the middle of nowhere, tell them to get the ^$%£ out, and also tell them this is how it is, leaving them stranded. But its ok, cos I need more money from my job, so leaving them standed will help us all in the long run.

The way the BA cabin staff cheered at the strike shows they are all retards. Be grateful for earning so much money for a non-degree job!!!! And get the hell back to work you losers!!
