This is part 2 of the sped up digital painting for the winner of my 250 Subscribers screenshot contest that I held at the end of last year. It was completed over the course of a month or so and a total of 9 hours in Photoshop CS4.

More to come soon!

  • You are completely awesome! I am learning how to blend in photoshop and it drives me crazy. Does your program stall for seconds every time you use the smudge tool? How do you avoid this?

  • @tweetykeya21 Thanks! Mine doesn't stall because I purchased extra memory for my system. Photoshop and especially tools like the smudge eat up a lot of your comp's RAM, so you have to make sure that you're not running a bunch of other programs when you're working on large images. If you're using a tablet, make sure your double-click distance setting isn't too high. Also, google "photoshop scratch disk" and make sure that your settings meet Adobe's recommendations.

  • Wow, wonderful. What resolution do you work on?

  • @ResultzMayVary Thank you - I usually work at 200 - 300dpi depending on the project. I wanted Vanessa to be able to print this out fairly large, so I made it 14" x 17" at 200dpi (2800px wide by 3400px tall)
