Part 1/3 of level seven in my C&C Tiberian Dawn: The Covert Operations - GDI walkthrough.

From destroying the western units and base defences with my Commando, triggering Engineer reinforcements, to selling up my buildings apart from an Advanced Power Plant, and a Hand of Nod, and produce a Minigunner army quickly to swarm the Obelisk in the east base. Once the eastern base has been cleared out of Turrets, the Obelisk and Infantry (apart from a wondering Minigunner), I send in my Engineers capturing the Construction Yard and Tiberium Refinery. Finally, I clear out the SAMs in the base and capture the buildings (they're all cheaper than Engineers, and necessary), I also take out alot of buildings in the two main bases in preperation for my landing, by putting the game speed up and letting my Airstrike recharge. I'm left with a nice sized Tiberium field, so purchase alot of Silos in preperation for the landing on Nod's Island.

The key to the beginning of the level is putting the game speed down, you should then be able to kill the flamethrower before it knocks off almost half your health, at the same time, save before blowing up every building. If two people come out, reload. You could probably win this level just with the Airstrike if truth be told. They don't build anything until you land there, and once out of credits they probably won't repair, and instead will sell. I consider that cheap, so just take out the two Construction Yards, the Silos and the Advanced Power Plants.
You could also try Sandbagging them in, and leisurely building up an army to attack them with, and not even have to take out a building with Airstrikes, just remember to have ALL your Airfeilds on their island, otherwise some of your units will likely land at your main base, and be of no use.

    <3'd this mission. Idk how many times it took me to get through it the first time.

  • I remember this...whoever actually worked out what to do in it was a genius! One of the hardest things I've ever played

  • oooooo this was so hard

  • The computer cheats! He can build new Construction Yards from scrap sometimes without an MCV.. lol

  • I kept trying to do this all fancy, using stealth tanks to blow up the power plants, or artillery trying to outrange the turrets.

  • If only you could build an army of commandos
