The poem is about a couple having a romantic night(nothing dirty, not fooling around) under the moon and everything that is around them outside. this is the first poem i ever wrote( about 3 yrs ago), so it means alot to me. Also, out of all of my poems, this one is my favorite. This is my number one favorite song too, so i thought they would go together good. Song: Only One By: YellowCard i don't own the song. no copyright infringement intended. i only own the poem.
The Poem: Moon's Effects
Love is the moon's middle name.
Called on by people of roses, gold,
loneliness, and mystery. Late in the evenings
are the moon's beginnings,
vanished by the hours in the morning.
Water drips from a leaf, dripping from rain's last
Heartache.
Dripping
Dripping
into waters below. Leaves folllowing behind.
Drowning deep within
is not on the agenda as the wind catches.
A hat runs in the wind's demise. Carried
past the potatoes in the soil outside, growing
modest, in our eyes, in which we seek out the moon.
While wearing brass buttons,
enjoying sugar loving wafers
as we sit below the moon.

✩ Wow, when I first read this from you I would have never in my head heard this song, ✩ but it makes so much sense! ✩ You're completing two ends of a story, the melody that is your poem and then the words in the song. ✩ You brought it to life! ✩
