@EasternMerchant "my grandfather used to always say...."

Your grandpa lived his life as a grownup between the crisis of 1920-30 and the current one. He didn't really experience the suffering as a homeless and becoming food less.
If he did, he would have had much different opinion.
I have a friend who's has libertarian idea just like your granpa. It turned out he was born in 1933, which means he grew up in recovering economy and as he grew up, the economy was booming.

@EasternMerchant Some people have very limited means. Sorry, but your grandfather doesn't know anything. I live very much "within my means" and we cannot afford hosing, food, or healthcare.

Home is a paradise we build within. Shelter is what we build around us. Many people have shelter but do not have a home. This man seems to have both.

@fnkdrmr86 you think Your happier?
This is NOT Homelessness, but two things my grandfather used to always say..... "people should live within their means, and the world wouldn't be in the mess it is today" and, "I didn't have a pot to piss in and a window to throw it out of, but as long as I was happy with myself, it doesn't matter!" RIP Grandpa you always were a fountain of wisdom!
